How is it the middle of March already? This year is going by so quickly, and there's so much I want to accomplish! At least I'm on target to make my reading goal this year (and maybe surpass that number), so that's one thing to be happy about! One thing I've finally done that makes me happy is reading a book by the incredible team of Christina Lauren! They've been on my "to be read" list for so long!
Love and Other Words is the second-chance romance story of Macy and Elliot. They met as young children shortly after Macy's life was turned upside down. Elliot quickly became her safe space, the one person with whom she could always be honest about her thoughts and feelings. As they grow, their friendship grows stronger and develops into so much more. But one night of misunderstandings and betrayals rips them apart. Love, if it's meant to be, always finds a way of reuniting those separated. Now as adults, Macy and Elliot must learn how to reconcile the past to find a future together.
I admit to being surprised at the innocence of this story. I've heard from many friends who are fans of Christina Lauren how sexy and steamy their books are. So while I hadn't previously read their stories, I had, unfairly, expectations. Love and Other Words is listed as Women's Fiction, but I think it would be better categorized as Young Adult. Fans of slow burn romance will enjoy the story!
Since reading Love and Other Words, I've read the books in their Wild Seasons series. While I prefer the naughtier sexy side of Christina Lauren, I'm thrilled my introduction to them was this sweet story.
